What you believe you will achieve.

Women in their 50's

Women in their 50's, amazing, self assured, knowledgeable, got it all together, you would think!!!!!!!! Or are you like Demi Moore approaching 50 with challenges?

I realized something when I analyzed my clientele, most of them were women in there 50's or approaching 50. All of them with very similar challenges.

What I found out was some of them were confident, self assured, knowledgeable, took care of themselves and independent. These were the ones that wanted to take the world by storm advance themselves, get rid of their baggage, re-awaken themselves and were ready and willing to live the 2nd half of their lives to the fullest. Some of these women were also getting rid of their husbands or partners they were with 20 + years.

The other type of women who came to me were the ones who thought their life was over. Approaching or going through menopause they felt they were losing their womanhood, losing sex appeal, losing their looks. Some of these women were having panic attacks, anxiety issues, depression and even a tendency of suicide.

Self Esteem

Self Esteem in women is a balancing act.

What is it that makes us women in our 50's so different in our approach to dealing with menopause and aging. Is it to do with Self Esteem? Is it the way society says when you reach a certain age you should be changing and this is what you should expect.

What I find is society and everyone who has an opinion have a negative one they think if they mention the worst and it does not happen it is a bonus. Instead of thinking positive and taking charge of your own body and mind, they are programmed to think they will be the same as their ancestors.

Therefore some women have the idea that they are now getting past it and their confidence level goes down and they start to lose interest in themselves, put on weight and stop taking care of themselves.

50 and Beautiful

Unique and Individual

You are a unique human being and you can be and do what every you want, whatever you tell yourself is going to happen to you then that is what it is.

I watched the Dr OZ tv show to-day which says exactly what I am talking about and using functional medicine instead of traditional and taking the positive holistic approach, looking at the whole picture and not trying to look for a disease to label you with. Instead looking at all the areas and seeing where the in balance in your life is.

I believe in integrated medicine but I also agree with functional medicine.

Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn is also an inspiration of woman of 63 who has taken on the holistic approach and also started up her program in schools which I think is one of the most amazing things to do. Teaching our kids meditation and awareness of their own bodies and mind. This will lead to less women feeling less of themselves and help them go through the 50's and all age groups with pride and knowing exactly what they want and being happy about it.

Now that I am in my fifties I am noticing just how much I appreciate life. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or if it's because I'm simply pursuing my dreams now that my children are grown and out on their own. It doesn't matter to me. I am happy, I am 51, and I am unique, as you mentioned above. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! this hub is genuine, very well written, and points out to many people young and old the fact of freeing ones mind may answer all issues of age, because we were all programmed indeed in this modernized society, by superstitions, poor traditions, word of mouth, the media, and so many other ways.

True natural health and spirituality may also lead a person to find themselves, as opposed to aimlessly following the heard or flocks of others who've been misguided.

I enjoyed your hub for sure, and will be reading many more in due time. Voted up!
